Raf Simons slim jeans from S/S 2007. In excellent used condition. Made in Romania.

In our view, S/S 2007 was an unexpected moment of clarity for Simons. Higher temperatures often demand less fabric and more exposed skin, and this consideration was evident in the collection's effortless styling. Minimalist silhouettes pervaded, with an emphasis on clean shapes, light fabrics and easy layering. This uncluttered atmosphere laid the perfect groundwork for showcasing Simons's ingenious experimentations with graphic decoration, seen in the season's iconic sleeveless tops. Tim Blanks described the collection as an 'exultant trip down memory lane' and :

'"I felt like having fun," [Simons] said backstage, after a show that featured many of the elements—the narrow silhouettes, the sleeveless tops—that we've come to think of as classic Raf. [...] To take one sartorial element, then de- and reconstruct it is the sort of cerebral activity Simons loves to engage in—and somehow manages to make consistently fascinating. [...] In their uniformity, [the outfits] paradoxically emphasized individuality. Don't ask how Simons achieves such effects—put it down to sublime empathy.'

The collection's statement outerwear and long graphic tops were subtly complemented by form-fitting trousers that lent a dose of sharp restraint to the modern outfits. These jeans were used in numerous runway looks and their cut is quintessential Raf Simons, with a low rise, elongated proportions length and a skinny tapered leg. The fabric is a luxurious cotton drill in a beautiful dark navy/grey colour. The fabric's fine weave makes for a soft, smooth yet hard-wearing material with a slightly lustrous finish that will develop a beautiful patina with wear. 

Opting for a more minimalist take on the classic 5-pocket design, Simons has reinforced the edges of the pockets using horizontal bar tack stitches instead of the typical metal rivets. The streamlined aesthetic is further complemented the zip closure, which finishes with a beautiful tonal horn button. On the interior, The pockets are lined in smooth black cotton like traditional tailored trousers.

A versatile and easy to wear piece, these jeans will complement a variety of outfits while maintaining the sharp silhouette that has defined the Raf Simons label.
